Nature is nearby and everybody deserves the chance to go outside and enjoy it. This past summer with support from the Children in Nature Network, Wanda Fullmore interns were able to work with the Parks and Public Health Madison and Dane County departments to explore the relationship between nature based activities, leadership, and racial inequities.
Interns built seven nature-based play equipment structures with donated materials from City Forestry department, for low-income, early childcare centers across the City. They learned that nature activities are a great way to bring people together while strengthening a community and I couldn't agree more!
