Hawthorne Fifth Graders Take Over the Mayor's Office

Hawthorne Elementary fifth graders are yearly visitors to my office and we had another great meeting this week.

Hawthorne Elementary Students

Teacher Dave Jenks works with the fifth graders every year, and they had quite an adventure planned this year.  In addition to the Mayor's office, they of course went to the State Capitol and the Vilas Zoo but they also had trips planned to the Nevin Fish Hatchery in Fitchburg, a Norwegian heritage center in Stoughton, a local family farm and the Cave of the Mounds. And that was just the first two days this week!

I am glad they were able to spend some time with me and I wish them all the best next year as they head to either O'Keefe or Sherman Middle School.
