Another Record Setting Year for the City Employee Bowling Tournament

January 10, 2019 5:14 PM

The City of Madison Employee Bowling Tournament is a long-standing tradition.  For the past five years, the event has had an additional great purpose.  Of course there is the comradery, and the competition, but more important, the effort to raise money and collect food contributions for Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.  This year's event raised over $4,130 for Second Harvest, setting yet another record.

Session 1 fundraisers

Pictured above is the Engineering Team of TJ Reilly, Dan Sommer, Eric Dundee, Eric Pederson and Mike Dailey.  They may or may not be good bowlers, but they did raise the most money for Second Harvest in the first shift of bowling.  Congrats to all of them, and of course thank you!

Second Shift Top Fund Raisers

The employees above, are part of the Economic Development Team, Andrea Freedman, Heidi Fischer, Jerry Lund, Cristine Klawiter and Heidi Radlinger.  They took top honors in raising money during the second shift of bowling.

In addition to the money raised, employees donated nearly 240 pounds of food.  Another record!

My thanks to Bowl-A-Vard Lanes, for their partnership and to City Employees Local 236 and 6000 as well as Madison Professional and Supervisory Employee Association for their monetary contributions.

Special shout outs as well to Ruth Rohlich for her contributions and to the event organizers, Eric Pederson, Kerry Pederson, Andrea Freedman, Heidi Fischer and Jeanine Zwart. (Note to City Employees- feel free to contact Eric Pederson or Heidi Fischer if you want to join the planning team-they are always looking for new help!)

I know we are already looking forward to next year's event!
