Honoring Mentoring Positives

March 20, 2015 5:01 PM

Thank you to Alder Marsha Rummel for leading the effort to honor Will and Becky Green and Mentoring Positives at our most recent Common Council meeting.  Mentoring Positives is celebrating ten years of service to Madison youth and the organization is making an incredible difference in the lives of young people.Mentoring Positives

One of the group's most recent efforts is Off the Block Salsa which is sold at Metcalfe's Market.  Alder Rummel and Alder Shiva Bidar-Sielaff treated the council to a sample of the salsa at the meeting and it received a thumbs up all around!  Area youth involved in Mentoring Positives participate in a gardening program and a number of the ingredients are grown locally.

The Council and the Mayor honored and commended the work of Will and Becky Green and Mentoring Positives for their positive contribution to the youth of Madison, especially the youth of Darbo-Worthington Neighborhood.

The City is grateful for their leadership.
