MISSION
a) Recommend policy to Mayor, Council & Dept of Civil Rights in all areas that affect people w/ disabilities and their families; b) study/make recommendations to all city depts/boards/committees & commissions on proposals to provide better access to facilities & services for people w/ disabilities & their families; c) monitor & report violations of city ordinances and state laws pertaining to citizens w/ disabilities to the approp. agency; d) solicit comments/suggestions from citizens & organized groups regarding the concerns of citizens w/ disabilities; e) establish close working relationships with other city boards/commissions & committees whose activities may affect people w/ disabilities.
