Terrace Town

Mayor Soglin facilitated the official morning ribbon cutting ceremony for the 2014 Terrace Town.

Terrace Town, produced and presented by Monona Terrace, engages some 1,500 local elementary students to study architecture and sustainable community planning in the classroom throughout the school year with the support of professional architects and city planners who serve as program mentors. The students then install the cities in the Monona Terrace Exhibition Hall - 10,000 square feet of "green" scale model neighborhoods which were designed by students using recycled materials. The school day features shared observation between participating schools, building activities and live music.
