2012 Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award
In an effort to encourage a respectful and productive workplace environment, an employee advisory group was created. The Metro Advisory Respect Group (MARG) organizes monthly sessions for all employees focusing on current topics that affect the workplace. Example topics include, budgeting, future of organization, honoring excellence relationship building with other city agencies such as the Madison Police Department.
Metro continues to assure affirmative action principles are used during the hiring process by working directly with the Department of Civil Rights and Human Resources. In addition, a number of minority employees are trained to perform community outreach and share information about Metro jobs in non-traditional forums, including middle and high school career days and community organizations, to encourage diversity in applicants for Metro positions.
