"My older son has been using the city bus for 4 years. But I never had, especially with my disabled son and daughter. When I heard about Dump the Pump, I thought how nice it would be to not always have to use our wheelchair van to get around town. Also, my 15 year old son (who is in a wheelchair) really wanted some independence. So I talked to others about it, and found out that ALL the city buses have fold out ramps, and an area to secure Danny's wheelchair! This was great to learn, and the video on the mymetrobus website really helped me to feel comfortable. I was even reassured that Danny could travel with his service animal, Crawford. All this, and we live right on a bus route! (The #19). I am very proud to live in a city that goes above just what is required by the law, to make all users feel welcome. Without that attitude, I would not feel as comfortable letting my kids use the bus. Now I feel that our wheelchair van can just be for out of town trips. Thanks, Metro Bus!"
