Senior/ Disabled Reduced Fare Information

A senior/disabled reduced fare is available for senior citizens (65 years and older) and people with disabilities. If requested, proof of eligibility must be provided to use reduced fares on Metro buses.

Metro encourages riders to apply for a reduced fare permit to use as proof of eligibility. To request an application, call 608-266-4904, or come to the Metro Transit Administrative Office at: 1245 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53703 between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM.


Seniors

To qualify for a reduced fare permit you must show proof that you are 65.

Acceptable forms of proof:

  • Driver’s License
  • Medicare Card (qualifies for permit regardless of age)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Service Discharge Papers
  • Wisconsin ID

People with Disabilities

To qualify for a reduced fare permit you must be certified as disabled by a physician or a registered nurse or be a Medicare recipient.

Purchasing Passes
Senior/Disabled fare can be purchased at a number of outlets in Madison including the Metro Transit Administrative Office, online and through Metro-by-Mail. Call 608-266-4904 to request a Metro-by-Mail form.
