Proposed August Service Adjustments
Wednesday, April 10; 6:00 PM
215 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Room 260 (Madison Municipal Building)
On Wednesday, April 10, Metro Transit and the City of Madison Transit and Parking Commission will hold a public hearing at 6 PM to discuss service changes proposed to go into effect in August.
Under current schedules, Routes 4 and 5 both depart the South Transfer Point (STP) at the same time on weeknights and weekends. This leaves an hour gap in service from the STP to the Capitol Square. In addition, Route 16 arrives at the half hour between the departures of these routes, so transfers to the Capitol Square require a half-hour wait. The proposal is to shift Route 5’s schedule on weeknights and weekends by 30-minutes so that buses depart the STP towards the Capitol Square at half-hour intervals, and direct transfers can be made from Route 16 to Route 5.
Interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing to give feedback. Consideration will be given to views and comments expressed at the public hearing as well as to all written comments received.
