Ten women firefighters from the City of Madison Fire Department, and the wife of another MFD firefighter will take off on foot tomorrow morning as part of the Ragnar Relay, a 198-mile race from Madison to Chicago. The race starts at Olin Park Friday morning at 6:45 a.m.
The runners on the MFD Harriers, aka Flame Chasers team can expect lots of support along the course as they run through Madison on the first leg of the journey.

Ragnar is an overnight running relay race staged at numerous locations around the country. A team is made up of 6-12 individuals; each individual runs 3 legs. The legs of the race vary in difficulty and distance, from 3-8 miles, allowing elite and novice runners to run together. The race will take place over 2 days and 1 night.
