The City of Madison's yard waste drop off sites are open for the season. The sites are located at 4601 Sycamore Av, 1501 W. Badger Rd and 402 South Point Rd. The sites will be open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings the sites are open until 8 p.m.
"Earlier in the year we had announced that the South Point Rd site would remain closed for the year and that the sites would no longer be open on Sundays," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "In February, the Common Council restored the funding for the sites so all three locations will be open and they will be open on Sundays."
The South Point Rd location only accepts yard waste, leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and garden debris. The sites are Badger Rd and Sycamore Av also accept brush, large items, refuse, recycling electronics, cooking oil, Styrofoam, rigid plastics, shoes, and textiles.
The drop off sites are for City of Madison residents and property owners only. Proof of residency must be provided in order to use the sites. Details on the sites can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/streets.Contacts:
