Wednesday, June 16, 2010 - 10:14am

City of Madison firefighters and paramedics responded to a construction site at 750 University Ave. this morning shortly before 7:00 a.m. after a report of a fall.

Crews found a worker who had fallen from a wall to the third floor of a building under construction, a distance of about 20 feet.

Paramedics attended the patient at the scene, but the only access to the 3rd floor was by ladder. A Stokes basket from Ladder 1 was used to transport the patient. The basket was lowered to the ground floor by a construction crane at the site. He was moved to the ambulance for further evaluation and transport.

The 30-year-old male patient was transported to UW Hospital.
