Downtown Residents Can Put Refuse Carts Out Early

Extra Collections to Encourage Greater Use of Carts During Move Out
Residents in the downtown area who have their refuse collected on Thursdays can put their refuse carts at the curb starting today. Crews from the Streets Division will be able to empty them so residents can use them again during the move out.
"Downtown residents always have lots of refuse this week," recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "We want to encourage them to put as much material in their tan refuse carts in order to make our collection more efficient. Since we have extra crews working in this area, we will be able to empty the carts so the residents can refill them over and over again during the move out."
