Ice rinks, hybrids, lifeguards....what do they have in common? Madison Parks Division
• The Madison Parks Division is proud to be supporting the University of Wisconsin Hybrid Vehicle Team by allowing the team to use the Westmorland Park ice rink for their on-going tests. • B.L.A.S.T. Program continues. Madison Parks Beginner Lifeguard Aquatic Skills Training (BLAST) program continues throughout the winter. There is room for more participants in this innovative program to recruit and train minority lifeguards to work at Goodman Pool or the Madison Beaches. The BLAST participants are partnered with experienced swimmers to learn and practice the basic skills needed to enroll in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program. Upon successful completion, the participants may then apply for a lifeguard position with the City.
BLAST is currently meeting Sunday evenings from 7:00p.m.-8:15p.m. at the YMCA West Pool.
