The city of Madison is excited to introduce the second series of Madison Meet & Eat to the south side of Madison. This unique neighborhood event brings together a collective of local food cart vendors and encourages friends and neighbors to enjoy a fun night out. The second series kicks off Tuesday, July 9th from 5:00-7:30 and continues on July 16, July 23, and July 30. The location for the second series is Villager Mall at 2234 S. Park St.
Madison Meet & Eat is an initiative by Madison Mayor Paul Soglin to bring together community members and local food vendors in order to address "food deserts." A food desert is defined as an area where healthy, affordable food is difficult to obtain. Madison Meet & Eat will address this issue by introducing attendees to new and local food options in a fun, neighborhood atmosphere, with each vendor having at least one option under $3.
"In the past, food cart vendors mainly served the downtown and campus area. Last year, Madison Meet & Eat proved that Madisonians want access to these wonderful vendors in their own neighborhoods," said Madison Parks Superintendent Kevin Briski. "After the success of Madison Meet & Eat last year, we are pleased to bring the event to a new neighborhood on the south side of Madison."
Bring your friends and family to Villager Mall Tuesday nights from 5:00-7:30 to enjoy healthy, local foods and the company of your neighbors at Madison Meet& Eat. Due to limited parking, guests are encouraged to walk, bike or take the bus. To learn more about Madison Meet & Eat please visit the website.
