The Madison MSA was named a top metro for corporate facility investment in Site Selection Magazine’s annual Governor’s Cup Ranking. The Madison MSA landed spot #5 for metros of populations 200,000 – 1 million, with a total of 33 new and expanded corporate facilities in 2014. This represents a jump from Madison’s position at #8 in 2013.
“This ranking marks a positive trend in economic growth for the Madison Region,” notes Paul Jadin, president of the Madison Region Economic Partnership. “The fact that the Madison MSA appeared in the top ten for like-sized metros two years in a row is indicative of significant investment and interest in this region. Breaking into the top five clearly illustrates our leadership and economic vitality.”
“Madison is a place where people want to live, learn, play and work,” says City of Madison Mayor Paul Soglin. “We are continually looking for development projects that help us grow our economy while respecting our very unique sense of place. It is great to be recognized for doing just that.”
The Madison MSA consists of Dane, Iowa, Columbia and Green Counties. The complete list of top metros with populations 200,000 – 1 million is pictured below.
