Madison – Due to forecasts of extreme heat and humidity, Mayor Dave Cieslewicz today announced that the Goodman Pool will open at 11:30 a.m. – an hour earlier than usual – on Saturday and Sunday morning and will stay open until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. The pool usually closes at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Cieslewicz reminded residents that for safety reasons, no more than 1,000 patrons can be in attendance at any one time. If the pool facility reaches its capacity, as is likely on hot weekend days, patrons will be asked to wait at the gate until others leave. Cieslewicz asked patrons to be aware that others may be waiting and encouraged residents to be patient as they wait in line. He also suggested that patrons take the bus, carpool or bike to the Goodman Pool because parking is limited.
The Goodman Pool is located at 325 Olin Avenue on Madison’s south side. Daily admission prices range from $2.00 for children to $3.50 for non-Madison residents. Season passes are also available for sale at the pool.Contacts:
