Madison - Mayor Dave Cieslewicz tonight issued the following statement regarding the Governor's State of the State Address.
"Governor Jim Doyle has worked hard for seven years to make Wisconsin a great place to live. In the midst of the deepest recession since the Great Depression, it is clear that the Governor's top priority is creating jobs and helping those hardworking Wisconsin residents who have been affected by the national economic crisis. I'm pleased with the Governor's plans to not only build on existing industries, but to position Wisconsin to take advantage of new opportunities in clean energy and energy efficient manufacturing. He is taking important steps to put Wisconsin on the forefront of a sustainable economic recovery. I want to thank Governor Doyle for his continued efforts to create jobs and pursue new clean energy opportunities. Madison will continue to be a partner in these efforts."
