The Office of Madison Mayor Paul Soglin is pleased to announce that he will once again begin producing episodes of the monthly Madison City Channel public affairs program The Mayor's Report. The thirty-minute show, a staple of City Channel programming since 1984, will feature Mayor Soglin and host Laura Whitmore of the Madison Parks Department discussing various City issues with City staff, elected officials, and local community leaders.
The first episode, a discussion of the City's new Downtown Plan, will welcome City Planning and Community and Economic Development Director Steve Cover and Eighth District Alder Scott Resnick.
"I'm pleased to be reviving The Mayor's Report," said Mayor Soglin. "I appreciate the opportunity to utilize another communication vehicle to discuss some of the complicated issues facing the city."
City Channel Manager Brad Clark added, "We're very happy to see The Mayor's Report returning to our regular programming lineup. In these days of ever-tightening resources, it's vital that the Mayor and his guests have the opportunity to talk about these topics and communicate directly to Madison residents."
The first episode of The Mayor's Report will premiere on Thursday, February 2, at 4:00 pm. The show will be rebroadcast weekly on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Madison City Channel can be found on Charter cable analog channel 98; Charter digital 994; and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, as well as online at www.cityofmadison.com/citychannel.Contacts:
