Organized by leaders from UW-Madison, Madison College, Edgewood College, Capital Entrepreneurs, and Sector67, the goal of Startup Weekend Madison is to bring together entrepreneurial minds from Wisconsin and beyond to collaborate on innovative projects and potentially form new startup companies. In this 54-hour event, developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups. It is one of the largest and most well known events of its type in the world.
"Madison is the perfect location for this event," said Mayor Soglin. "The combination of the UW, Madison College, and Edgewood in conjunction with startup entrepreneurs provides a great environment for this innovative event. The City of Madison IT Department has been working with organizers to prepare for this event. The city welcomes all of the attendees and I look forward to visiting with many participants."
