MFD Goes Pink for October
Monday, October 11, 2010 - 9:07am
The City of Madison Fire Department will be in the pink for the rest of the month in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Department has adopted pink t-shirts as part of its standard uniform for the rest of the month.
The move is part of a program initiated by Fire Fighters Local 311 Charities in cooperation with the Department's Command Staff.
The charity arm of the union is selling the shirts to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation - Madison Chapter, with all proceeds staying local. Purchase of the shirts by Department personnel is voluntary.
More than 200 shirts have already been sold. There is a limited number available to the public for $15 each. They can be purchased at the Fire Administration Building, 325 W. Johnson St., Madison, WI
