Recruit Academy Graduation Today

Friday, March 19, 2010 - 11:45am

The City of Madison Fire Department graduated 18 new firefighters from its Recruit Academy today at 2:00 p.m. at Monona Terrace.

Two of the recruits received their badges from current members of the Department. Ryan Kinkade had his badge pinned by his father, recently-promoted Division Chief Rich Kinkade. Kyle Annen received his badge from his father Lt. Jeff Annen.

Despite those family connections, Recruit Group 30 shows diversity in experience and background. A sampling includes degrees in everything from fashion to mechanical engineering. Others are former firefighters who have come to Madison from New York City and military service in Iraq.

Here are the recruits from Group 30:

Kyle R. Annen Robert J. Luling
Derek R. Brown Matthew P. Murray
Troy M. Donkle Daniel M. Pazurek
David A. Guthrie Chad A. Powell
James C. Kidd David M. Schrimpf
Kristopher P. Kiley Richard Scott, Jr.
Ryan A. Kinkade Michael Terry
Scott E. Lardinois Jason E. Wiese
Christopher S. Lugo Aaron R. Zamzow
