MPD Helps Sponsor Family Friendly Friday Gathering
The early spring night sky over Warner Park will be the focus of a family fun night Friday as the Madison Police Department, City of Madison Parks, UW Space Place, and the Madison Astronomical Society join forces for "Stars Over Warner, Universe in the Park!"
Astronomers will set up telescopes for a tour of the night sky between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Stargazers of all ages are invited.
People will meet at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center, 1625 Northport Dr.
If viewing conditions are poor, astronomers will be ready to host a slide show program inside the center.
The MPD is proud to help sponsor the event. "Our community police officers and our department believe that building relationships with the community in settings like this event is essential to fulfilling our mission to develop meaningful partnerships with the neighbors we serve. Besides, we like stars," said Dave Dexheimer, Vera Court Neighborhood Officer.
