WIAA Announces Madison Will Continue to Host the Majority of High School Tournaments Through 2020

I am delighted that WIAA officials and Board of Control members have decided to retain the majority of their tournaments in Madison, and I am grateful for the leadership provided by the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau on this issue. It has been clear to me that the students, teams, their families and fans have let it be known that it was important to hold the tournaments in Madison.

It has been a challenging but very worthwhile experience working with a team in a collaborative manner to present the best proposal possible to the WIAA. We have a great city and wonderful facilities in which to host these tournaments. I am confident that the City, the University, Convention and Visitors Bureau, business owners and citizens will warmly welcome our high school athletes for years to come.
