Wet Conditions on Madison Parks Athletic Fields
March 13, 2009
Everyone is feeling it, the end is near, it's almost here!!! What is it? Spring is in the air - and we are ALL itching to get outside and play some sports. But with the melting snow, and couple inches of rain in the last few weeks, the parks playing fields (soccer, softball, football) are wet and not in condition to handle large numbers of people.
The Parks Division asks that teams and pick-up games refrain from playing on the fields and parks until conditions dry out. This will help minimize the damage to the turf. Sports teams rely on safe conditions for the entire season. If a field is torn up now, it has a cascading effect on the rest of the season's reservations.
We thank you for your understanding and patience!
