Madison Water Utility is building a new well at 4901 Tradewinds Parkway to bring better fire protection and more reliable service to the Southeast Side.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)

Madison Water Utility has finished upgrading customer water meters to a wireless technology network that reads and transmits water consumption on a daily basis. So far, more than 63,400 new metering systems have been installed in homes and businesses across Madison.

There is no installation charge or fee for having the new metering system.

On 6/24/14, the Water Utility Board approved plans for a $7.4 million overhaul of this vital Madison facility.

NEXT STEPS: Refine the conceptual plans with neighborhood input. Currently, MWU hopes to begin construction in the summer of 2015.
