Yard Waste Drop Off Sites Open All Weekend

There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Monday May 25th because of the Memorial Day holiday. Madison residents who normally have their material collected on Monday should place their material out for collection on Tuesday May 26th. Refuse and recycling will also be collected in Tuesday's districts on the 26th. "Because of the double collection day it is important that residents get their material out early on Tuesday," said Madison Recycling Coordinator George Dreckmann. "East side residents should have their refuse and recycling out at the curb by 6 a.m. and west side residents by 7 a.m." Because of the holiday, large item collection will be limited the week of the 25th. Residents are asked to hold on to their large items until the following week if possible. The City of Madison yard waste drop off sites will be open over the holiday weekend. The sites will be open on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd. on the south side, 402 South Point Rd. on the west side and 4602 Sycamore Av. on the east side. Brush collection for residents in the Friday refuse collection district will begin on Tuesday the 26th. Residents in the Friday refuse collection district should have their brush out to the curb for collection by 7 a.m. on Tuesday the 26th to insure collection sometime during the week. Information about all of the Streets Division's recycling and solid waste services is available at our web site www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
