Winter Recreation Update Dec. 23

Ski Trails - All of the Madison Parks cross country ski trails are now open: Odana Hills, Monona Golf Course, Owen Conservation Park, Elver Park, Olin Turville and So. Cherokee. Elver Park Shelter has ski rental this week from 11a.m. - 9p.m. and Odana Hills will have ski rental this weekend 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m. Please stay tuned throughout the day and week as conditions may change with the predicted rain/sleet/snow. Ice Skating -Vilas Park Hockey & Figure Skating Rinks will be open at 3p.m. The lagoon is not yet ready. Tenney Park skating will open at 2p.m. And Elver Park skating will open today at 11 a.m. Westmorland ice rink is ready for skating, but the warming is not yet open. Please stay tuned throughout the day and week as conditions may change with the predicted rain/sleet/snow. Sledding Hills - Conditions are good for sledding. Sledding hills are located in Warner Park, Berkley Park, Olbrich Park, Heistand Park and Elver Park. Parks Staff reminds everyone to have fun, be safe and respect your fellow sledders. Bring your own sled, wear a helmet, keep a safe distance from others when sledding. Exit the bottom of the hill as quickly as possible. Walk up the hill using the side of the hill.
