School Evacuated Due to Light Smoke

Randall Elementary School at 1802 Regent Street was evacuated this afternoon due to a light smoke haze on the second floor. City of Madison Firefighters responded at 1:36 PM and found students and staff waiting outside. The crew of Engine 4 checked the building and found no signs of fire. While the firefighters searched for a source of the smoke, students took shelter from the cold weather at nearby West High School. School maintenance staff will continue checking equipment in the building for the cause of the smoke haze. Firefighters reported no injuries at the scene.
