A New Way to Volunteer

The Madison Senior Center has been chosen to implement a new national Intergenerational Volunteer program called CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) Healthy Habits. This successful program will start in September 2011 and continue through December 2012. The Madison Senior Center is seeking volunteers. If you are a physically active adult 50 + years of age and enjoy working with children, grades K-5, this exciting program will interest you. CATCH Healthy Habits offers volunteers the opportunity to interact with children, focusing on simple exercises and healthy foods. Training and materials will be provided. Good communication skills, reliable attendance and transportation are a must. Be one of the first to receive satisfaction for being part of a demonstration program designed to decrease or prevent childhood obesity and diabetes among children enrolled in program. Call Rick Orton at 267-2344 to learn more about this exciting program or visit www.madisonseniorcenter.org and click under Volunteers.
