The Minority Affairs Committee is proud to announce "People, Places, Things," an exhibition of the recent oil paintings of Madison artist Jerry Jordan (born and raised in Racine, WI) at the Madison Municipal Building from January 4, 2013-March 1, 2013. Exhibition hours M-F 8:00-5:00, S 8:00-12:00, closed Sunday. Jerry Jordan is part of a growing movement of painters that are giving new life and vision to the classical representational style of painting. Jerry refers to his style as the harmonious union of classical realism and impressionism. He counts such painters as John S. Sargent, William M. Chase and Joaquin Sorolla as major influences in his artistic growth. This exhibition was organized by the City's Minority Affairs Committee as part of their celebration of "Emancipation, Freedom, Justice, and Equality" during African American History month and beyond. The African American History month program (featuring an address by President Q Solutions, LLC and President, WI Division of the United Nations Association) and reception with artist Jerry Jordan will be held on Wednesday, February 13, at 11:30am in the lobby of the Madison Municipal Building at 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and is free and open to the public.
