Work this week (week of 10/9/17):
Crews continued to mobilize equipment to the project site.
Crews continued clearing and grubbing operations on CTH M, CTH PD, Mid Town Road, and Raymond Road.
Crews continued removing topsoil along CTH M and CTH PD.
Crews installed erosion control devices.
Work scheduled for the next week (week of 10/16/17):
Underground utility construction will begin on Raymond Road starting October 16, 2017.
Crews will continue clearing and grubbing operations throughout the project.
Crews will continue topsoil removals within Stage 1 limits along CTH M, CTH PD, and Mid Town Road.
Crews will begin common excavation along the northwest quadrant of the CTH M and CTH PD intersection.
Crews may begin work on the house demolition at the southeast quadrant of the CTH M and Mid Town Road intersection.
Traffic impacts -
- Shoulder closures will remain on CTH M and CTH PD throughout the duration of Stage 1.
- Raymond Road will remained closed to thru traffic until further notice.
- Roadway flagging operations will be taking place periodically throughout Stage 1.
Overall Completion Date: November 1, 2019.
Interim Completion Dates:
December 1, 2017: Wellness Way and Meriter Way. (utilities and base aggregate)
December 15, 2017- Stage 1 grading and storm sewer. (CTH M)
June 15, 2018- Wellness Way and Meriter Way. (Local Traffic)
November 15, 2018- CTH M, CTH PD, Mid Town Road. (Switch to Stage 3)
November 15, 2018- Raymond Road, Meriter Way, and Wellness Way. (All work complete.)

The Prairie Hill to Cross Country project extends from Valley View Road to Cross Country Road. The project is scheduled for design from 2011-2016 with construction beginning in fall 2017. It is anticipated to take two years to complete with an construction end date of fall 2019. The project includes reconstructing CTH M to divided roadway with a median and curb & gutter.

Public Information Meetings - Construction Phase
Pre-Construction Public Information Meeting
Integrity Grading and Excavating (Prime Contractor) along with Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be holding a Public Information Meeting regarding the upcoming construction of County Highway M in Verona. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 27 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a formal presentation at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli St, Verona, WI 53593. Please feel welcome to attend.
Monthly Project Meeting
WisDOT, City of Madison, City of Verona & Dane County will host monthly project meetings open to the public to get updates on the schedule and ask questions. The meetings will be held on the first thursday of every month during construction at 2pm. The location is to be determined. Please check back. The first meeting will be November 2, 2017.
Public Information Meetings - Design Phase
The City of Madison, City of Verona and Dane County held a Public Information Meeting on this project on December 8, 2011, 6 PM at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street, Verona WI. Representatives from the City of Madison, City of Verona and Dane County discussed the proposed project and answered questions.
The second Public Information Meeting for this project was held May 24, 2012, 6 PM at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street, Verona, WI.
