Thieves pose as city employees, claim to be investigating water issue

According to Madison Police, an elderly resident was robbed over the weekend by thieves posing as City of Madison employees who claimed to be investigating a water contamination issue. Please remember, all of our employees carry photo IDs that clearly show they work for Madison Water Utility. Always demand identification before allowing anyone into your home, even if he or she claims there is a water-related emergency. If something seems suspicious, call the Madison Police Department.
