“After nearly a year and a half of operating our libraries with reduced service hours, we are thrilled to return to our fully budgeted hours,” said Library Director Greg Mickells.  “We are committed to sustaining an environment that is safe for our staff and customers as we expand hours again.”

Budget cuts in 2020 mean that many libraries won’t return to their 2019 operating hours, however.  These expanded hours include reductions in service at the Alicia Ashman, Central, Monroe Street, Pinney and Sequoya libraries, and the addition of Sunday hours to Goodman South Madison and Lakeview Libraries.

Library staff are required to wear masks, and library customers are highly encouraged to wear masks while in the library per the current Public Health Madison & Dane County health advisory.  For information on all library collections and services, visit madisonpubliclibrary.org or call 608-266-6300.

All Libraries will be closed Monday, September 6 in observance of Labor Day.
