Capitol Police Put A Stop To Vehicle Fire On the Square; Cause Unknown
Incident Details
Capitol Police Department officers successfully quelled a significant vehicle fire on the Capitol Square Monday afternoon.
Officers discharged two dry chemical extinguishers into the front end of the Toyota Camry just prior to Engine 1’s arrival.
Firefighters found the battery melted, and it appeared to be the only thing that was on fire inside the engine compartment.
The driver was not the owner of the vehicle, so it’s not known if there were recent mechanical issues that may have contributed to the fire.
