Fire At Construction Site Believed To Be Accidental
Incident Details
Neighbors on the 600 block of Old Timber Pass called 911 after someone ran to their door advising there was a fire at a duplex nearby currently under construction.
Flames were visible as Engine Co. 12 and other west side companies responded to the scene. Engine 12 knocked down the fire with a pressurized water can extinguisher. Ladder Co. 7 assisted with ventilation, and Ladder Co. 2 performed a search, confirming nobody was inside the building.
Firefighters believe the heater used to keep freshly-laid concrete warm was placed too close to other materials, causing a fire to start near a doorway. The fire was knocked down within three minutes of MFD arriving on scene.
