Work is complete on the new playground at Wexford Park!
The orange construction fence has been removed, the playground is open and ready for play as of 11/8/2017. Parks construction staff will be on site periodically throughout the close of this year and early next to examine the equipment for warranty inspections and quality control on the contract.
All questions and comments regarding Wexford Park playground should be directed to Kate Kane, Landscape Architect, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (608) 261-9671.
The Parks Division held three public input meetings regarding the project: the first as part of the 2017 Playgrounds Group 2 Workshop on November 3, 2016 and a follow-up session that was considered a re-do of the workshop session (due to low attendance at the first) with the neighborhood on December 15, 2016. A final "equipment voting" meeting was held on January 19, 2017.
At the equipment voting meeting, attendees asked for revisions to the selected 5-12 age range equipment Option #2 design to swap the Arch Loop Traverse shown on the proposal for a straight set of overhead/monkey bars and to add a step-off or transfer on the Track Ride opposite the main Transfer Point. These changes will be requested from the manufacturer and if possible within applicable safety standards and overall budget, will be added to the proposals and posted here and sent to meeting attendees for review.
Stand-alone items that received the most votes at the meeting include: Wave Rider See-Saw, Spinami, QBits and an additional bay (4-bay swing) to the swing set to provide an accessible seat.
UPDATE: The neighborhood has spoken and the revised proposal for the 5-12 age range equipment (manufacturer is Playcraft) received the majority vote and will be installed along with the other equipment this summer!

Playworld Systems has provided an updated image (see below) of the selected 2-5 equipment together with the chosen stand-alone items (NOTE: the Spinami will likely be placed closer to the 5-12 age range equipment as this is a higher speed/5-12 age range activity. The QBits and Wave Rider See-Saw can be located near the 2-5 main structure).
