Become an AASPIRE Intern with the City Today

posted

The City of Madison is dedicated to creating a community where all are able to achieve economic success and social mobility. To increase economic success of our student population while demystifying City government work, the Department of Civil Rights annually sponsors Affirmative Action Student Professionals In Residence (AASPIRE) internships.

The AASPIRE internship program was created in 2003 with the mission to introduce students who have been historically underrepresented to City government and make them aware of future employment opportunities with the City. After completing their internship, interns are eligible for positions limited to City employees for up to 6 months. Currently the City of Madison employs seven former AASPIRE interns:

    • Jessica Stammer – Transit Marketing General Supervisor
    • Saran Ouk – Office of Business Resources Manager
    • Daniel Villegas – Metro Customer Service Representative
    • Abigail Ferguson – IT Specialist 3
    • Zach Commons - IT Specialist 2
    • Breana Collins – Planner 1
    • Binta Ceesay – Water Communication Outreach Specialist

Thank you former AASPIRE interns for all you bring to the City of Madison!
