South CPT Neighborhood Ride Friday Afternoon

Bike riding residents of the Regent and Vilas Neighborhoods are invited to "Bike with a Cop" this Friday afternoon. Members of the South Police District's Community Police Team (CPT) will ride with neighbors on a tour of the area. The event is designed to promote the sharing of ideas between officers and the citizens they serve so that areas of concern can be best addressed. All ages are welcome to ride, but children should be accompanied by an adult. Everyone should wear a helmet and the pace will be set by the slowest among the group. Participants will gather at Trader Joe's, 1864 Monroe Street, at 5:30 p.m. The ride is scheduled to last one hour. Anyone with questions can email CPT Officer David Dexheimer at ddexheimer@cityofmadison.com. The South CPT also plans to take the two-wheeled community outreach program to the Waunona/Bridge/Lakepoint neighborhoods later this month. Other South District residents interested in having "Bike with a Cop" come to their area should contact Officer Dexheimer.
