MPD CITIZEN'S ACADEMY
November 9, 2011
APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED
The Madison Police Department is taking applications for the 2012 MPD Citizen's Academy. The Madison Police Department Citizen's Academy is a program that is designed to give the public a working knowledge and understanding of the values, goals, objectives and operation of the City of Madison Police Department. The goal is to improve the lines of communication and help build a positive relationship between the Madison Police Department and the community members we serve. This will allow citizens to gain a deeper understanding of their police department and allow police to become more familiar with the citizens they serve. By working together with the public, we are better able to solve problems that face our community and improve the quality of life in the City of Madison. The 2012 MPD Citizen's Academy will be on Monday evenings from 6-9pm for nine weeks starting January 23, 2012.
This course is not intended for those wishing to explore or pursue a career in law enforcement, but to produce informed citizens. This course will not satisfy any State of Wisconsin training requirements necessary for a Concealed Carry permit.
