Steven Davis Named City of Madison Fire Chief

On Tuesday, January 3, 2012 the Police and Fire Commission announced Steven Davis as the new City of Madison Fire Chief at a press conference held at Fire Station #1. Chief Davis served as a Lieutenant at Fire Station #1 since 2000.

Chief Steven Davis has been with the Department since 1989. He has served in the capacity of Firefighter, Paramedic, Training Officer and Fire Lieutenant. Chief Davis is a State of Wisconsin Certified Fire Instructor, and has been involved in developing many training programs locally, as well as district-wide. Chief Davis has also been involved in Lake Rescue, hazardous materials, and the Heavy Urban Rescue team. He is a Padi Dive master, the former Lake Rescue Team coordinator, and an original member of the Department's Technical Rescue team. He was promoted to Division Chief in January, 2011.
