Neighborhood Guidance Team

The goal of the Neighborhood Guidance Team is to enhance effective delivery of City services and resources to neighborhoods by identifying and removing system barriers to effective staff performance, using information obtained from Neighborhood Resource Teams.

In order to accomplish the mission, the Guidance Team will:

1. Provide a forum for discussion of City issues which arise from field staff experience.

  • Create and maintain a list of Neighborhood Resource Teams and members for identified areas of the City.

  • Convene a meeting at least twice yearly for all teams and the Guidance Team.

  • Provide a specific outline for teams to use at the meetings to report their experience, opinions, wants and needs pertaining to service delivery in the neighborhoods.

2. Compile the information gathered from the Neighborhood Resource Teams.

  • Identify problems.

  • Identify and prioritize solutions.

  • Report back to the teams.

3. Pursue implementation for selected projects and changes, either through department heads, or — for large interdepartmental resources — through the Mayor's Management Team.

4. Serve as liaison between the Mayor's Management Team and neighborhood activity.

5. Track and recognize successes.

  • Check out the neighborhoods pages on the City's website for additional information.
  • If you have a suggestion or concern regarding a specific topic, contact the appropriate City agency — such as Public Health for health issues, or Police for crime issues.
  • If you have a general suggestion, contact your Alder or the Mayor's Office, or the Neighborhood Resource Team leader within your area.
