PARKING IN CITY-OWNED PARKING RAMPS DURING A SNOW EMERGENCY

During a declared snow emergency you can park in the cashiered sections of city-owned ramps
for NO CHARGE from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m.

If you arrive before 9 p.m. or leave after 7 a.m. you are liable for any parking charges from  prior to 9 p.m. and/or from 7 a.m. until the time you leave.

When parking in the ramps over night, DO NOT park on the top level
so this area can be plowed.

Be aware that vehicles stored in city ramps longer than 48 hours can be ticketed and towed.

Meters in lots and ramps are enforced 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

 Alternate Side Parking

  • The purpose of Alternate Side Parking is to remove vehicles from the streets so that street maintenance can be performed (e.g., snow plowing or street sweeping).
  • Alternate Side Parking regulations are in effect from November 15 to March 15, seven days a week REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS.
  • Information will be announced through the media (newspaper, radio and television ads) prior to, and during the snow season.
  • It will be the responsibility of parkers to make themselves aware of the rules and regulations pertaining to their parking area.

There are two exceptions to these rules.

  • If you live on a street that has parking on only one side of the street, 24 hours a day, then the alternate side parking restrictions do not apply to the blocks with restricted parking. This exemption only applies to streets with 24 hour no parking restrictions.
  • The other exception is the Downtown-Isthmus Snow Emergency Zone. In this area the alternate side parking rules are in effect only when a snow emergency has been declared.
