Detailed step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Park your vehicle and note your space number and time limit.

Space numbers at multi-space metered parking spaces can be found on posts on the terrace adjacent to the parking space. Be sure to identify the correct number for your space. Note the time limit at your parking space. Vehicles are not allowed to remain parked in any space beyond the time limit. Once the time limit is reached the vehicle must be moved. Vehicles parked longer than the posted time limit are subject to citation. Note whether you have parked in a peak-hour tow-away zone. This information will be displayed both on the space number sign and on the closest pay station.

Step 2: Enter your space number at a Multi-Space Metered Pay Station.

Locate a multi-space metered pay station. There will be at least one per block face on every block controlled by a multi-space meter. Pay stations can be identified by the green and white "Pay Here" sign. Enter your space number on the numeric key pad.

Step 3: Insert payment (U. S. coins or credit/debit card) and select the length of your stay.

You may pay for your parking with U.S. coins (no pennies) or with a credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard only). Select the length of your stay, up to the time limit for your space. Insert coins until the time on the display matches the length of time you wish to park. Insert and remove your credit or debit card and then adjust the length of your stay by pressing the blue buttons. Add time with the blue buttons until the time on the display matches the length of time you wish to park. If you pay for the maximum allowable time in your parking space, either by inserting coins, or by pressing the blue buttons (including the Max button) when paying by credit/debit card, your receipt will print automatically and your transaction will be complete (auto-complete).

Payment will only be accepted during the hours of enforcement which are 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. Any payment made between 6 am and 7:59 am is considered a pre-payment and will be applied beginning at 8 am. Payment will not be accepted prior to 6 am or after 6 pm or during other time periods when parking is prohibited. Any payment made with credit or debit card will auto-complete with an expiration time of 6 pm if the amount entered would extend parking beyond 6 pm, subject to time limits. The card will only be charged for the time that falls within the enforcement limits. Any payment made with coin will auto-complete with an expiration time of 6 pm once a sufficient number of coins have been entered to extend parking to 6 pm, subject to time limits. Any additional coins entered will be released to the coin return. If a space is within a restricted zone, any transaction which attempts to purchase parking beginning when the space is unrestricted and extending into the restricted time period will auto-complete with an expiration time that corresponds to the end of legal parking.

Once the green button has been pressed no more time can be added to your parking session. Each new transaction begins with a balance of zero at the current time. There is no need to return to your vehicle at this time. Multi-space receipts do not need to be displayed on your vehicle.
