People for Parks

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Created in 1983, the People for Parks program encourages citizens to take an active role in the maintenance and enhancement of our parks. Donated funds for specific projects are matched, allowing increased flexibility. Contributions of parkland, benches and trees have enhanced our parks. Stewardship efforts are visible through Earth Day clean ups, tree mulching, hiking trail repair, planting and weeding gardens, prairie seed collecting and assistance at special events. These activities involve individuals, community organizations, businesses, school groups and neighborhood associations throughout the community.

For more information on how you can volunteer in Madison's parks, call the Parks Community Relations Coordinator at 266-5949.
