Upcoming Volunteer Days

Thursday, September 4, 1:00 – 3:00pm, James Madison Park, 614 East Gorham Street

Clean Lakes Alliance is hosting their Renew the Blue volunteer day to pick up trash and rake plant debris from the shoreline. All materials provided.

Saturday, September 13, 9am-noon, Tenney Beach parking lot, 1300 Sherman Ave. Join the Friends of the Yahara River Parkway in invasive removal and mulching. The FYRP provides gloves, tools and refreshments.

Saturday, September 13, 10am-noon, Brittingham Park, 701 West Brittingham Place

Volunteers will assist the Friends of Monona Bay pick up trash and debris along the Monona Bay shoreline and in the park.

Saturday, September 20, 10am-noon, 3902 Regent Street

Join the Friends of Hoyt Park for their Annual Prairie Seed Collecting. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle and gloves.

September 27, 9:30-11:30am, Woodlawn trail head, 802 Femrite Dr.

Join the Friends of Edna Taylor Conservation Park for Burdock digging. Bring a sharp, sturdy shovel if possible.

Saturday, September 27, 9am-noon, Burr Jones Field parking lot 1820 E. Washington Avenue

Join the Friends of the Yahara River Parkway in invasive removal and mulching. The FYRP provides gloves, tools and refreshments.

Saturday, October 4, 9am-noon, Corner of S. Thornton Ave and1524 Williamson St.

Join the Friends of the Yahara River Parkway in a brief walking tour and landscape restoration on both sides of the river. The FYRP provides gloves, tools and refreshments.

Saturday, October 11, 10am-noon, Brittingham Park, 701 West Brittingham Place

Volunteers will assist the Friends of Monona Bay pick up trash and debris along the Monona Bay shoreline and in the park.

Saturday, October 18, 9am-noon, Intersection of Yahara River Parkway Path & E. Main Street

Join the Friends of the Yahara River Parkway in landscape restoration. The FYRP provides gloves, tools and refreshments.

Saturday, October 18 or 25 (tentative), 9:30-11:30am, Woodlawn trail head, 802 Femrite Dr.

Join the Friends of Edna Taylor Conservation Park for Burdock digging. Bring a sharp, sturdy shovel if possible. Depending on the weather.

Join the Friends of Hoyt Park for Buckthorn Busting and other invasive species removal.  Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle and gloves.

Saturday, November 1, 9am-noon, John Wall Family Pavilion, Tenney Park, 402 N. Thornton Avenue/1414 E. Johnson Ave

Join the Friends of the Yahara River Parkway in the removal of invasives to promote growth of native species. The FYRP provides gloves, tools and refreshments.   

Saturday, November 8, 10am-noon, Brittingham Park, 701 West Brittingham Place

Volunteers will assist the Friends of Monona Bay pick up trash and debris along the Monona Bay shoreline and in the park.                                                                                                                                   

Saturday, November 15, 10am-noon, 3902 Regent Street

Join the Friends of Hoyt Park for Prairie Planting. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle and gloves.
