Saturday, April 26, 10am-noon, Various City Parks – Earth Day Challenge

The Earth Day Challenge continues in various parks around Madison to ready the park for spring and celebrate Earth Day (April 22). For more information, visit the Earth Day Challenge.


Saturday, April 26 or Saturday, May 3, James Madison Park, 614 E. Gorham St.

The head flower gardener for the James Madison Park shelter gardens needs help laying compost to clean up her garden for planting. This is a big job that requires anywhere from 6 to 12 volunteers.

Sunday, April 27, Noon-3pm, Olin- Turville Woods, 1155 Olin-Turville Ct
Volunteers will assist the Madison Area Weed Warrior volunteers with removal and/or thinning of invasive species including garlic mustard, dame's rocket, burdock, and trash.


Sunday, May 4, Noon-3pm, Edna Taylor Park, 802 Femrite Dr
Volunteers will assist the Madison Area Weed Warrior volunteers with removal and/or thinning of invasive species including garlic mustard, dame's rocket, burdock, and trash.

Sunday, June 1, 7:45am-3:30pm (shifts vary), Ride the Drive-Downtown

We have a volunteer position for everyone! There are spots for outgoing volunteers and spots for people who want to work behind the scenes. You have the option of different positions, locations and shifts. Visit Ride the Drive for more information.

Saturday, June 14, 10am-noon, Brittingham Park, 701 West Brittingham Pl
Volunteers will assist the Friends of Monona Bay pick up trash and debris along the Monona Bay shoreline and in the park.

Wednesdays from June 18 through July 30, 5:00pm-7:30pm, ‘Wild Side’ of Warner Park (ongoing)

This summer we are looking for 3 enthused and energetic outdoor loving volunteers to help a Friends of Wild Warner volunteer site coordinator, in partnership with Madison Parks, with projects that will help document biodiversity, enhance nature recreation and education value, and restoration efforts.
