Goodman Pool Waves Swim Team

Join Madison's All-City League Swim Team this summer: the Goodman Pool Waves! The Goodman Pool Waves is a community partnership between the Shelley Glover Sports Foundation, The Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation and Madison Parks.

The Goodman Pool Waves Swim Team welcomes all level swimmers, ages 6-18. Practice with an expert coach is held five days per week for 7 weeks. These daily practices will improve your child's skills whether they are just starting the sport or a seasoned swimmer. Your swimmer will make friendships and memories that will last them a lifetime.

The Waves are a competitive team and members participate in weekly Saturday swim meets, including the All-City Swim Meet, July 30-August 1, 2015. In addition to swimming competitively, every race is a chance for your child to do their best and break their own personal record.

Swim Groups

The Goodman Waves is open to children ages 6-18 (by June 1). Groups are based on age and ability but most of our swimmers will be placed in the group with their peers. In order to be in the advanced group for their age, swimmers must have prior competitive swimming experience, be able to do a flip turn, and swim 50 meters continuously (down and back).

Silver - ages 13 and up:
9:00-10:45 am (swim); 10:45-11:15 am (dry land)

Royal - ages 10-13:
9:00-10:15 am (swim); 10:15-10:45 am (dry land)

White - ages 9-12:

Purple – ages 9 and under:

The Goodman Pool Waves is not a swim lesson program.  To join the team, the swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool. It doesn't matter how fast, slow or quality of the stroke, as long as he/she can swim.  Our expert coaches will work daily with your swimmer to improve their technique.

Cost - $180

Cost includes team uniform suit, expert coaching, transportation to/from Goodman Pool to weekly meets, and more fun than you ever imagine!

Thanks to the Shelley Glover Foundation and The Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation, full/partial scholarships are available for the Goodman Waves Swim Team. To be considered for a scholarship, please write a supporting letter describing your need for the scholarship and email:

Continued Team Conditioning is a two-week program following the end of the Waves swim season. Practices will focus on conditioning and stroke development. This is a great option to prepare for high school or club fall swim teams.
