Odana School Dog Park Improvements
Last Updated: 01/30/2019
Odana School Park, located at 678 Segoe Road, is considered a neighborhood-level park and encompasses 5.98 acres. The park currently offers a basketball court, off-leash dog park, unprogrammed green space, and parking. The off-leash dog park area measures approximately 1 acre, under the currently recommended minimum of 2 acres. Madison Parks has found that, due to high demand, dog parks under 2 acres have ongoing issues with establishing healthy turf which results in unsatisfactory user experiences (e.g. muddy pooches after a rain event).
Madison Parks is considering expanding the Odana School dog park to meet the minimum 2 acre size and is seeking public input. This expansion may require altering the existing basketball court. A meeting will be held this winter to discuss this project, residents are encouraged to attend! Meeting materials will be posted on this page after the meeting.
