This year the City of Madison Parks is offering group ice skating lessons for beginners of all ages at our premier outdoor skating rinks at Elver and Tenney parks. These Learn to Skate classes offer a fun way to stay active in the winter months as you improve your confidence and ability on the ice and learn basic skater safety. All of our experienced instructors have completed basic skills training through the US Figure Skating Association or the International Skating Institute of America. The natural beauty of our outdoor ice rinks make them a unique and beautiful setting in which to learn to skate but please be aware that classes will be held outdoors.
Please note that for the 2013 season, we are no longer accepting registration for classes.

Please note that these classes take place outside and winter weather can be unpredictable. All students should wear gloves or mittens and wear appropriate and warm flexible clothing that allows for movement. Warming shelters are available at each of the rinks for use before and afterwards, but the actual skating class will take place outside on the ice.
We also strongly recommend that all beginning skaters wear a helmet and snowpants.
Please be aware that winter weather is unpredictable and out of our control. Weather conditions may prevent us from having lessons. If more than two classes are cancelled due to weather, you will receive a pro-rated refund.
